Couple accused in Vancleave arson fire
JACKSON COUNTY -- Deputies have arrested a couple on arson charges related to fire that destroyed a home in the 6900 block of Rolling Hills Drive in Vancleave, Sheriff Mike Ezell said.
Gregory Steven Alford, 46, of Grand Bay, Ala., and his wife, Laurie Ann Terry, 45, have each been arrested on one count of first-degree arson.
The fire occurred Aug. 10. No one was home when it started.
Terry owned the home, Ezell said.
The Jackson County Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
Sheriff's Capt. Chris Stratton said the accelerant used to start the fire will not be identified because that information is a part of the investigation.
The couple could face additional charges.
After their arrests, they were taken to the Jackson County jail.
Terry has been released on bond.
Alford remained in custody Wednesday on a $7,000 bond.
