Bomb threat at Ocean Springs Middle School was a false report
OCEAN SPRINGS -- A bomb threat was reported at Ocean Springs Middle School on Monday morning, but authorities said it was determined to be a fake call.
A school district official said classes had resumed by mid-morning.
"We had the entire school and the entire perimeter checked by the bomb dog and the children are all back in class," said Bonita Coleman-Potter, schools superintendent.
This is the third bomb threat reported at South Mississippi schools in less than a week. One was in D'Iberville High and the other was in St. Martin High. Both were on Thursday. A 15-year-old was arrested on a charge of false reporting of an explosive with a threat in connection with the D'Iberville incident.
No arrests have been made in the Ocean Springs or St. Martin case.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
