School bus driver's molestation trial scheduled in Jackson County
PASCAGOULA -- A former Ocean Springs school bus driver is scheduled for trial Feb. 22 in Jackson County Circuit Court on four charges of touching a child for lustful purposes and one charge of sexual battery.
Sergio Eduardo Sandoval, 64, allegedly committed the crimes against an 8-year-old girl on multiple occasions between Sept. 15 and Oct. 7 while other children were on the school bus.
The school district fired Sandoval on Oct. 8, after Superintendent Bonita Coleman-Potter said she reviewed camera footage from his bus that showed "a blatant infraction of school board policy."
He was arrested a day later.
According to a police report, Sandoval allegedly told the girl not to tell anyone what was going on because it was "their secret."
