Jackson County investigating robbery

JACKSON COUNTY -- Sheriff's investigators are investigating a strong armed robbery reported Tuesday, according to Jackson County Sheriff's Capt. Chris Stratton.

The victim, 47, told deputies he was outside a Vancleave home on Headstart Road helping someone work on a car when two people drove up in a vehicle. The victim, Stratton said, indicated the driver of the car that pulled up jumped out of the driver's seat, ran across the yard and "grabbed him like he was going to tackle him" and robbed him.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, a description of which was not available Friday.

The passenger in the suspect's vehicle, Stratton said, never got out of the car once the suspect drove up.

No serious injuries were reported to the victim.
