Vancleave woman accused in pickup truck theft
JACKSON COUNTY A Vancleave woman jumped off a bicycle and climbed into a pickup truck she's accused of stealing from a job site Wednesday in the 15000 block of Custer Road in Jackson County's Virginia City community, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Robin Danielle Ross, 21, of the 9200 block Jean Street, was taken into custody Thursday on a charge of motor vehicle theft. She is being held at the Jackson County jail.
Sheriff's deputies made the arrest shortly after a witness at the job site called back a day after the theft Wednesday to report seeing the suspect return to the area. Deputies found the stolen truck in a wooded area off Krohn Road in the Latimer community.
After Ross was taken into custody, the witness positively identified her as the suspect.
Ross was taken to the Jackson County jail, where she was being held Friday. In addition to the theft, she was being held on a misdemeanor charge of failure to pay fines.
If convicted, Ross faces up to 10 Years in the state Penitentiary and a $10,000.
