Suspect accused of shooting Gulfport man in torso still at-large
GULFPORT -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect who is accused of robbing a man and shooting him several times inside his apartment on Mississippi Avenue.
Raheem Tyrese Richardson, 22, is wanted for aggravated assault and armed robbery, police said.
Gulfport officers responded to a shooting about 3:11 p.m. Saturday at Mississippi Avenue Apartments. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
Police said Richardson went to the victim's apartment, shot him and took an unknown amount of money before leaving on foot.
The victim was taken to an area hospital by American Medical Response for treatment of his wounds, Sgt. Damon McDaniel said.
McDaniel said on Sunday the victim is still in the hospital, and Richardson is still at-large.
Richardson is 5-feet-6 and weighs 120 pounds. He has braided black hair. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
