JACKSON COUNTY -- A Colorado man has been arrested on a drug-trafficking charge after narcotics agents stopped him on Interstate 10 near Moss Point, resulting in the seizure of 2- 1/2 pounds of marijuana and 2 grams of hashish. Police said they also found a .45-caliber handgun.
Carl Gregory Slothower, 43, was taken into custody shortly after the 9:40 p.m. stop Monday night at the 58-mile marker, said Keith Havard, commander of the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team on Tuesday.
An agent, who had pulled Slothower over for a traffic violation, smelled marijuana coming from Slothower's Chevrolet Silverado and searched the pickup truck.
The agent found the marijuana in a duffel bag in the backseat, Havard said.

The agent found the hashish stuffed in glass Mason jars, Havard said.
Slothower later told authorities he was headed to Florida, possibly the Pensacola area.
He was taken to the Jackson County jail. He remained jailed Tuesday pending a bond hearing.
The case remains under investigation.
