Screams bring Biloxi police; man jailed in choking of woman

A woman's screams helped alert neighbors to stop an attack from a Biloxi man, officials said.

Lt. Christopher De Back said several people called Biloxi police anonymously Wednesday reporting a woman yelling for help in the 1600 block of Beach Boulevard.

De Back said when officers arrived, they found Jeremie Roberson, 26, and a woman who had injuries to her neck, arms, hands and face.

She told police Roberson choked her when she refused to leave with him.

De Back said an investigation revealed Roberson was out of jail on bond from a September felony arrest in Pascagoula.

He was arrested and taken to the Harrison County jail on the charge of aggravated domestic assault and was denied bond by Judge Albert Fountain.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call Biloxi police at 392-0641, the Biloxi Criminal Investigations Division at 435-6112, or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
