Gautier man suspected of stealing guns and other items from three homes

GAUTIER -- A Gautier man was arrested Sept. 30 and accused of stealing firearms and other items from three houses, officials said.

Matt Hoggatt with the Gautier Police Department said Derek Savage, 32, was arrested during a traffic stop in Pascagoula and found with the stolen items.

"Two of the homes were in the Hickory Hills area and the other was in the Point Clear subdivision," he said.

An investigation on the scene revealed the items were the same missing items from the Gautier burglaries, Hoggatt said.

Savage was taken to the Gautier Police Department on three counts residential burglary and is being held on a $30,000 bond set by Judge Jason Thornton.

Hoggatt said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Gautier Police Department at 497-2486.
