Gulfport charges two in armed robberies

Gulfport Police on Wednesday charged two people with armed robbery.

Cooper Ferretti, 23, was charged with three counts and Grace Hayes, 17, was charged with one count in connection with several armed robberies in the city.

On Tuesday, the Dollar General on Creosote Road filed a complaint of a suspect who entered the store and took an undisclosed amount of money at knifepoint. Ferretti was charged in that incident and Hayes charged for assisting in the robbery.

The investigation by police also led to charges against Ferretti in connection to an armed robbery of Pizza Hut on Three Rivers Road on Sept. 6 and again Oct. 20. Both Pizza Hut robberies were committed in the same manner as that of the Dollar General.

Both suspects were arrested without incident. Justice Judge Melvin Ray set bond on Ferretti at $150,000 and $25,000 for Hayes. Both were taken to the Harrison County jail.
