Watch as Gulfport police chase ends in Biloxi with shootout in vacant parking lot

A police chase that began in Gulfport ended Wednesday in an exchange of gunfire in a vacant parking lot on U.S. 90 across from the Treasure Bay Casino and Resort in Biloxi.

After the chase reached Biloxi, the driver pulled into the parking lot, where there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and officers from Gulfport and Biloxi, according to Biloxi Police Lt. Candace Young.

The suspect was shot and taken to a hospital, while no injuries were reported to officers.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation.
