Pass Christian man arrested, charged with hit-and-run death of South MS man

A Pass Christian man was arrested Thursday and charged in the hit-and-run death of a Gulfport man.

Gulfport Police Department arrested 49-year-old Minh Hoang Truong, and charged him with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

According to Gulfport police, officers responded just before 5 a.m. Thursday to a hit-and-run in the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from serious injuries. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Detectives identified Truong as the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim, and allege he fled the scene without stopping to render aid or provide assistance.

Truong was arrested, processed, and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond set by Judge Fountain.
