Former Keesler Federal employee accused of embezzling thousands, records show

An October trial date has been set for a former employee of Keesler Federal Credit Union charged in a four-count indictment with embezzling thousands of dollars she had access to as a result of her employment there.

Carnesha Renee Broomfield, 35, of Gulfport, is jailed in Harrison County on a total bond of $65,000.

A grand jury indicted Broomfield in January. She waived her arraignment on the charges Wednesday.

According to the charging documents, Broomfield allegedly committed the crimes between October 2024 and November 2024.

In three counts, Broomfield is accused of embezzling over $1,000 but less than $5,000 from three different accounts she allegedly had access to through her employment.

In a fourth count, she’s accused of embezzling over $5,000 but less than $25,000 from another account she had access to because of her job.

If convicted, Broomfield faces up to 25 years in prison, thousands of dollars in fines, or both.
