Gulfport man arrested, charged with aggravated assault after shooting

A 34-year-old Gulfport man has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault after a shooting Thursday in Gulfport.

Christopher Charles Clark, of Gulfport, was arrested Friday after the shooting in the area of Polk Street and Alabama Avenue.

Gulfport officers responded to the scene Thursday and found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim initially refused medical attention, officials say, but was later taken to a hospital by a family member.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Clark as the suspect. Clark was later located and taken into custody by the Ocean Springs Police Department.

The investigation revealed the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Clark and the victim.

Clark was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
