38-year-old man arrested, accused of grooming South Mississippi child online

A North Mississippi man was arrested on April 21 by officers from the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department at the request of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Bryant Giles, 38, from Southaven, is facing charges of grooming a child. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation began after a report was made on March 8 about an inappropriate relationship with a Vancleave child on social media. That investigation led to Giles, who is accused of building a relationship with the child.

Giles was taken Friday to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center and had an initial court appearance in County Court on Monday. Judge Mark Watts set bail at $250,000 and revoked Giles’ prior bond for grand larceny in Desoto County.
