Victim dead in Gautier shooting, with one suspect arrested. Investigation active

A shooting on Lima Drive on Thursday afternoon in Gautier resulted in the death of one person, a news release from the Gautier Police Department said.

A suspect has been arrested. The news release did not name the deceased or the suspect, whom emergency medical responders were unable to revive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release said.

“Officers quickly developed information regarding a suspect,” the news release said. “With the assistance of K-9 units, the suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident.”

The investigation remains active, with a continued law enforcement presence in the area, which the public is asked to avoid. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the call.
