MS Coast man arrested, accused of shooting victim during shoe sale, sheriff says

A Gulfport man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of assaulting two victims who authorities said went to the man’s home to sell a pair of boots.

The suspect, 49-year-old Eric Terrell Walker, is accused of hitting one victim on the head with a gun and shooting the other when they arrived at his house near Robinson Road in Harrison County.

He is jailed on a $1 million bond and faces two counts of aggravated assault.

Walker was arrested at his home and both victims were hospitalized, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. The victims were in stable condition Tuesday morning, according to Hanna Hendry, an investigator and spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Matt Haley said in a news release that residents should use public locations covered by cameras when meeting to sell or exchange items.
