23 pounds of meth found during a traffic stop. Driver walked away with no charges

Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley announced the seizure of 23 pounds of methamphetamine during a late-January traffic stop on Interstate 10.

According to a Monday news release, the drugs were hidden inside a Nissan Pathfinder which was being transported on a car hauler. A deputy from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office pulled the hauler over for a traffic violation at the 42-mile marker on I-10 in Biloxi, according to Haley. It was during that stop that the drugs were found.

No arrest was made, as Harrison County narcotics investigators determined that the driver of the vehicle was not aware of the drugs. The driver was released, pending further investigation.
