A 34-year-old man was arrested Sunday and accused of firing a gun at a car with four children inside, police said.

Authorities responded at about 5:05 p.m. Sunday to a reported shooting outside a home in the 100 block of Connie Drive in Gulfport, the police department said in a news release. Police said the victim arrived at the home with a 3-year-old, 11-year-old and two 14-year-olds in the car.

Officers arrested Orlando Arbyray Thomas, who faces one count of aggravated domestic assault and four counts of child endangerment in connection to the shooting, according to the news release. Police said Thomas left the home with a gun and fired several rounds toward the victim, hitting the car.

Detectives found spent shell casings and a gun at the scene, police said.

Thomas is jailed at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $450,000 bond.
