Pearl River County School District’s Police officers spearheaded the investigation with assistance from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, the sheriff said.

The School District said the fight resulted in injuries to a “visiting spectator.”

The School District did not release any other details other than to say that the incident “has attracted considerable public attention due to the fact that two of the individuals involved are the sons of an elected official from the visiting school district.”

Robertson’s father is a Picayune School Board member.

School Superintendent Jeremy Weir addressed the incident in a statement.

“The Pearl River County School District condemns all acts of violence in the strongest possible term,” he said. “Our athletic events and school campuses must remain safe environments for students, families, and community members. The District will continue to work closely with law enforcement to support the investigation and uphold the standards of safety and accountability expected by our community.”
