A 34-year-old Gulfport man has been arrested and charged with one count of drive-by shooting Monday night on Lorraine Road just north of Seaway Road, according to the Gulfport Police Department.

According to Gulfport police, Joshua Immanuel Golden positioned his vehicle in front of the victim’s vehicle and began driving erratically, repeatedly braking in front of the victim. The victim passed Golden’s vehicle, at which point Golden accelerated, passed the victim again, and continued brake-checking. Both vehicles stopped at a red traffic signal, where Golden brandished a firearm.

Both vehicles then continued northbound, and Golden fired at the victim’s vehicle. The bullet did not penetrate the vehicle, and no injuries were reported, according to a news release from the Gulfport Police Department.

Gulfport police say Golden admitted to being involved in a confrontation and stated that “if” he discharged a firearm toward the victim’s vehicle, it was in self-defense.

Golden was taken into custody and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he remains held on a $250,000 bond.
