MS Coast woman arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run that injured pedestrian
A Bay St. Louis woman was arrested Saturday on suspicion of hitting a pedestrian and driving away, police said.
Officers responded at 12:52 a.m. Saturday to the 600 block of North Beach Boulevard and found one person had been hit by a car. The victim was hospitalized.
The suspect, 22-year-old Amanie May, turned herself in around 3:30 a.m. at the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the police department said. Authorities said she had been driving a gold 2015 Nissan Rogue.
May faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily injury. She was jailed on a $75,000 bond.
Police said the victim was still receiving medical treatment on Monday.
