Authorities and company leaders are searching for a suspect after at least two customers found razor blades in bakery products from Walmart stores in Biloxi, police said.

A customer first found a razor blade inside a muffin purchased several weeks ago, said Lt. Candace Young, a spokesperson for the Biloxi Police Department. On Sunday, a different customer reported finding a razor blade inside a loaf of bread.

Walmart began to examine its products and found several more razor blades inside loaves of bread this week, according to police. The razor-blades had been pushed through thin plastic packaging.

There were no reports of injuries.

The police department said Monday that it had no suspects in the bizarre case. Young said Walmart was reviewing all security cameras but had not yet seen any suspicious behavior near its bakery products. The store is combing through several weeks of security footage.

“The problem is we don’t know when this happened,” Young said.

Police first said customers reported finding razor blades in bakery products from the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer Sr Drive. The department later added that officers also responded to the same complaint at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road.

It is also unclear how many razor blades the stores found. But Young said there were no razor blades inside merchandise in the warehouse, which suggests someone inside the store was tampering with floor products.

Police are asking anyone who bought bakery goods from Walmart stores in Biloxi to check for sharp objects inside the products and notify authorities if more razor blades are found.
