1 hospitalized in critical condition after shooting on MS Coast, police say

One person was hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting on Wednesday in Gulfport, police said.

Police responded to the shooting in the 14000 block of Rippy Road and found a man in a front yard with multiple gunshot wounds, Gulfport Police Lt. Jason DuCré said. Police first said officers were called to the scene at about 2 p.m. but later clarified it was closer to 3:30 p.m.

No arrests had been made by Thursday.

Police did not immediately release more details but asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
