Coast teen facing host of felony charges after fleeing police, authorities say
A Gulfport 18-year-old was arrested this week after authorities accused him of stealing two cars, burglarizing another and fleeing police with a stolen gun.
Harrison County sheriff’s deputies were called on Saturday to the 10000 block of Roundhill Drive in Gulfport after someone reported a stolen car. Authorities said the suspect arrived in a stolen car, then burglarized a car with a teenager and stole another vehicle.
Jamaro McNair was arrested on suspicion of six felonies, including stealing cars, burglarizing a vehicle, driving away from law enforcement officers, causing a teenager to commit a felony and possessing a stolen gun.
Deputies found the car driving west on Interstate 10 and said it stopped on County Farm Road because its battery died.
Deputies found a stolen gun when they arrested McNair, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. The teenager with him was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing and stealing a car.
McNair is held on a $210,000 bond in the Harrison County jail.
