Coroner identifies victims as police investigate double-homicide on MS Coast

The Moss Point Police Department said Monday it was investigating a double-homicide.

Police said the killings happened “in the area of Diamond Street” but provided few details.

Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd Jr. identified the victims as Alvin Myers, 70, and Cynthia Tucker, 59. Their relationship is unclear.

The coroner’s office is still investigating the deaths, and Lynd said it appeared the victims had been shot. He said he was notified of the killings at about 3 p.m.

Police released no further information, and Lynd said he had no other details at 7:30 p.m. Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley did not return messages.
