A man was arrested Thursday at a Biloxi home where he barricaded himself from officers responding to a report of domestic violence, authorities said.

Police arrived around 1:30 p.m. at the home in the 100 block of Crawford Street. The man opened the door, saw the officers and shut the door, Biloxi Police Lt. Candace Young said.

A woman inside the house later escaped with visible injuries, Young said. The man surrendered to police about 20 minutes later.

It is unclear how badly the woman was hurt, but Young said her injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect, who police have not named, was arrested at about 3:05 p.m.

Young said no shots were fired during the incident. She said police had a history of calls for domestic violence at the home.
