Authorities have identified a woman found dead in a Biloxi home this month as the sister of the suspect arrested in her murder.

Johnnie Bolton, 72, was found during a welfare check July 19 at her home on Keesler Circle, Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said. Biloxi Police said Bolton had been stabbed.

Police arrested a suspect, 63-year-old Sabrina Latricia Bolton, during an unrelated call last week near the 700 block of Beach Boulevard. She faces a murder charge and is held in the Harrison County jail on a $1 million bond.

Police first visited the home after a person reported they had not heard from Johnnie Bolton in several days, Biloxi Police Lt. Candace Young said in a news release earlier this month. Young confirmed on Wednesday that the victim and suspect were sisters.

A motive in the case is still unclear. Police had not been previously called to the address on Keesler Circle, according to Young.
