Murder suspect arrested after returning to MS Coast neighborhood, police say

A suspect accused of stabbing a man in Moss Point was arrested Sunday on a first-degree murder charge, police said.

Officers responded at 10:04 p.m. Saturday to the 4900 block of Lilly Circle. They found the victim lying in the road with a stab wound and brought him to Singing River Hospital for emergency surgery, Police Chief Brandon Ashley said in a news release.

Police identified the victim as Jamal Johnson, 33. He died early Sunday.

The suspect, 35-year-old Nelson Webb III, was arrested Sunday after officers got a tip that he had returned to Lilly Circle, Ashley said. Officers said they found a crowd and searched a home where they found Webb hiding.
