17-year-old injured, 2 teens in stolen car arrested after drive-by, MS Coast police say
Two teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection to a drive-by shooting that injured a 17-year-old in Gulfport, police said.
Police arrived at 6:24 a.m. Saturday on the 3000 block of 57th Avenue and said the 17-year-old had been shot. He was brought to a hospital and authorities said the injury was not life threatening.
Officers said two suspects in the shooting tried to evade police in a stolen car but were arrested later on Saturday. De’Jay May, 18, is facing two counts of drive-by shooting, one count of felony fleeing and one count of motor vehicle theft, police said. Robert Taylor Jr., 18, is facing two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of motor vehicle theft.
May and Taylor are being held in the Harrison County jail on respective bonds of $600,000 and $550,000.
