Gulfport man sentenced to over 7 years for armed robbery of South MS Dollar General, Texaco

A Gulfport man is headed to prison for over seven years, or 87 months, for taking part in two armed robberies in Long Beach in 2022.

Ladarius Callahan, 26, pleaded guilty to two federal charges for conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery for his role in the May 8, 2022, armed robbery of Dollar General, and the Nov. 6, 2022, armed robbery of Texaco, both in Long Beach.

A federal grand jury in January 2024 indicted Callahan and two others, identified as Christopher Collins and Gabriel Johnson, in the same case on federal charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery.

Collins previously pleaded guilty to his involvement in the Texaco armed robbery and received a 42-month prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release.

Johnson is still awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to one charge in the case.

The FBI and the Gulfport and Long Beach police departments investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Buckner prosecuted the case in federal court in Gulfport.
