Suspects chased and killed a man on I-10 east of New Orleans after altercation, police say

New Orleans police are looking for two male suspects who they say chased a man down on Fat Tuesday and fatally shot him in his vehicle on Interstate 10 in the West Lake Forest area of New Orleans East.

Officers responded to a call on I-10 east near the Crowder Boulevard exit just before 6 p.m. The caller said the shooting followed a fight, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police said the two suspects entered a store in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard before the victim exited the store and left in a vehicle. The two suspects then got into their vehicle and chased the victim, attempting to cut him off, police said.

The suspects opened fire and and shot the victim in the head, according to police. Police found the man in his vehicle on I-10, where New Orleans EMS pronounced him dead.

The I-10 east on-ramp at Crowder was closed temporarily as police investigated the killing.
