MS Coast man sentenced to prison for producing child porn of a 5 year old, prosecutor says

A Vancleave man is headed to prison for 28 years after pleading guilty to child exploitation Friday, according to the Jackson County District Attorney’s office.

Kippy Anthony Ladnier Jr., 47, entered the plea before Judge Calvin Taylor.

Taylor sentenced Ladnier to a total of 40 years in prison but suspended all but 28 years day-for-day for him to serve, followed by 12 years of post-release supervision.

In addition, Ladnier will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

An investigation began after investigators became aware of sexually explicit images of a 5 year old on the Internet. A search of the Internet address led investigators to Ladnier.

At his home, investigators found other sexually explicit images of the same 5 year old. Those images had been uploaded on a computer in Harrison County as well.

Assistant District Attorney Carolyn Lewis prosecuted the case.

“Our children are our future and must be protected,” District Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath said in a release. “When someone steals their innocence and inflicts lifelong wounds – we will hold them accountable.”

McIlrath said Ladnier created the child pornography of the child and then shared the images over the dark web.

“The sharing of child sexual abuse images perpetuates that abuse and is one of the vilest acts one can engage in,” McIlrath said. “This substantial prison sentence reflects the seriousness of this predator’s crime and will protect our children.”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
