Suspect in South MS domestic incident that hospitalized 2 found dead, authorities say
Two people involved in a domestic disturbance on Friday in Hancock County are recovering and a suspect has died by suicide, authorities said.
Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 5:04 p.m. Friday to the 24000 block of Road 347. Authorities said they found a man and woman suffering gunshot wounds and said the woman had also been run over by a car.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office issued arrest warrants on Monday for Matthew Cory Rayborn on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated assault domestic violence, according to a news release.
Local authorities learned Tuesday that Rayborn fled to Fort Smith, Arkansas and died by suicide, the news release said.
Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Kris Robbins said Tuesday the woman involved in the incident was hospitalized in stable condition. The second man involved in the incident had been released from a hospital.
