MS Coast agents find fentanyl in A/C vent & 15,000 drug-laced pills, DEA agent says
A Jan. 30 traffic stop led to an undercover drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of over two pounds of fentanyl and 15,556 fentanyl-laced pills, according to Gulfport police DEA agent James Nix.
The investigation began after drug agents conducted a traffic stop and found about 58 grams of fentanyl inside.
Afterward, the driver said he could arrange a buy and a man, identified as Marcus “Spurt” Agee, called to set up a sale, but the plan backfired on him after the driver told authorities he could lead them to Agee’s “stash” spot at a home in the 800 block of 23rd Street.
Inside the home, agents found over 2.3 pounds of fentanyl hidden behind an air conditioner vent and thousands of blue drug-laced pills in the home’s attic.
Both Agee and the home’s owner, identified as Jermiya Renee Spears, are in federal custody on drug charges.
After the initial traffic stop, the driver called to order over two ounces of fentanyl, referred to by Agee as “juice.” The two agreed to meet behind a Sonic near Walmart in Gulfport to do the transaction..
The alleged buyer turned the tables on Agee at that point, according to Nix, and told the agents that he could lead them to Agee’s “stash” spot.
The drug agents went to the home armed with a search warrant that led to the seizure.
Both Agee and Spears remained jailed.
In addition, Gulfport police arrested Marcus Taneal Lloyd, 35, and Tracy Antione McCall, 39, on charges of possession of a controlled substance..
