Former Ocean Springs substitute teacher Keshawn Trevyune Belcher used email to fraudulently report bombs had been placed in the city of Pascagoula and at the Jackson County jail.

Belcher, 22, of Gautier, is accused of committing the crimes at the Jackson County jail on Sept. 9, 2024. He had already started serving a 20-year prison sentence for sending sexually explicit videos to Ocean Springs students and kissing a 13-year-old student.

If convicted of the new felony charge, he could go to prison for up to 10 years and or pay up to $10,000 in fines. He waived his arraignment on the felony charge and is awaiting trial, tentatively set in February.

In August, Belcher started serving a 20-year prison sentence for sending sexually explicit videos to Ocean Springs Middle School students and for kissing a 13-year-old student. Once he’s released, he will register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Belcher was a substitute teacher hired by an outside agency to work at Ocean Springs Middle School in April 2023. He spent less than a week there.

According to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, he shared his Snapchat with students and asked them to connect with him on the school’s media platform.

He asked students for videos of them masturbating and for them to meet for sex.

Belcher is currently a defendant in civil litigation filed against him by the parents of several students he allegedly victimized. That case is pending in federal court in Gulfport.
