18-year-old arrested after late-night shooting injures MS Coast teenager, police say
Authorities arrested a man who allegedly shot and injured a 17-year-old Wednesday night in Long Beach, police said.
Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal said Thursday morning that the victim’s condition was stable. The teenager was brought to a local hospital and later transferred to Mobile, according to a news release.
Police arrested Keone Moore, 18, on one count of aggravated assault.
Moore is also facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver related to a search warrant that police said uncovered “a large amount” of marijuana after his arrest. Police also said officers found “several” guns at Moore’s home.
Police responded just before 10:30 p.m. to a duplex in the 100 block of Via Don Ray Road, Seal said.
Seal had no information about motive or what led to the shooting. He said it was possible other suspects could be involved. Police are still investigating.
Moore was booked into the Harrison County jail just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the jail docket. The inmate list shows Moore is held on a $500,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge and a $15,000 bond for the drug charge.
