Husband and wife dead, son injured after shooting in Biloxi, MS Coast authorities say

A husband and wife died and their son was injured after a shooting on Friday in Biloxi, police said this week.

Police said in a news release on Thursday that officers responded at 6:17 p.m. Dec. 20 to a shooting in the 2300 block of Arbor Drive.

The police department identified the victims as Jamie Dejurnett, 43, and Antonio Dejurnett, 46. They were husband and wife, said Sgt. Candace Young, a public information officer for Biloxi Police.

Pafford Emergency Services brought a third victim, the couple’s son, to a local hospital for treatment. Police said Thursday he was in stable condition.

Police believe the shooter was Antonio Dejurnett, Young said. She said authorities had not determined a motive but that the shooting was “domestic related.”

Police took six days to notify the public of the shooting because of a communication error and the Christmas holiday, Young said. She said the information “got lost in the shuffle” because investigators first sent it to the wrong person instead of the public information office. Employees were also off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
