MS Coast woman arrested after stabbing younger brother during argument, police say

An argument between siblings ended in arrest Friday morning after a Waveland woman stabbed her 61-year-old brother, police said.

Her brother suffered a stab wound but was later brought to a hospital and was in stable condition, Police Chief Michael Prendergast said in a news release.

Police arrested Patricia Thomas, 64. She faces an aggravated assault charge and is held in the Hancock County jail without bond pending her first appearance in court.

Officers arrived at the home on Olivari Street at 10:35 a.m. and saw Thomas’ brother leaving with an apparent stab wound on the left side of his ribs, the news release said. Police said Thomas left the home with a knife.

Officers found Thomas at a neighbor’s house, the news release said. An investigation found the siblings started arguing in the kitchen.

Thomas’ brother went to Hancock Ochsner Medical Center and has been transferred to Ochsner Health Center of Slidell for treatment, the news release said.
