MS Coast narcotics investigator shot while pursuing vehicle. Three arrested, police say

Three Mississippi Coast residents are jailed on aggravated assault charges after one of the three shot and injured a Harrison County narcotics investigator.

Arrested and charged with aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle are Trevor Barron, 21, Cori Davis , 23, and Tamoko Johnson, 22. All are Moss Point and Pascagoula residents, D’Iberville police Chief Shannon Nobles said.

The narcotics investigator had been doing surveillance on the trio’s car Tuesday evening.

The surveillance of their silver Honda Accord began in Biloxi but progressed into D’Iberville, the release said.

When the suspects neared the intersection of Rodriguez Street and Gorenflo Road, Nobles said one of the three in the car shot at the narcotic investigator’s car.

The narcotics officer, who was not identified, suffered a gunshot wound to the face and neck area, and the wound was ‘luckily” not life-threatening, Nobles said.

After the shooting occurred, a D’Iberville K-9 unit stopped the Nissan Accord and took all three suspects into custody without incident, a release said.

All three suspects are jailed in Harrison County, with bonds set at a total of $500,000 for both charges.

D’Iberville police and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department are still investigating the shooting.
