MS Coast man charged with murder after shooting in Hancock County, authorities say

Authorities charged a suspect with murder after a shooting Thursday night in Hancock County left one man dead, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 9 p.m. Thursday to the 6000 block of East Grenada Street, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputies found a male victim suffering from one gunshot wound. The man later died of his injuries, the news release said.

Deputies detained Ronald Zoerner, 38, of Bay St. Louis. Authorities later charged Zoerner with first-degree murder, the news release said.

Zoerner is being held at the Hancock County jail on a $1 million bond. The Sheriff’s Office did not identify the victim of the shooting.
