40-year-old convicted felon arrested after domestic dispute results in 5-hour standoff
A five-hour New Year’s Day standoff has resulted in charges against a Biloxi man.
Officers were called to the 14000 block of Woodland Hills Drive on New Year’s Eve for a domestic disturbance.
When they arrived, officers found Joshua Ivan Crawford, 40, barricaded in the home, and refusing to come out. He eventually surrendered without incident, according to a release from the Biloxi Police Department.
Accused of being a convicted felon in possession of prohibited weapons, Crawford was charged with aggravated domestic assault and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
“Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain was notified and set a no bond on the aggravated domestic assault charge due to Crawford being out on felony bond at the time of this incident,” said Sgt. Nick Sonnier in the release.
Fountain set bonds of $50,000 for Crawford’s possession of a deadly weapon by a convicted felon and $75,000 for the two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Crawford was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and booked.
