Suspect arrested on murder charge in fatal Gulfport stabbing
A man who was wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing has been arrested, Gulfport police say.
Octavius LL Benton was arrested Wednesday on a first degree murder charge.
On Monday, Gulfport Police Department officers responded to a stabbing in the 2600 block of 19th Street at around 12:05 p.m.
According to a press release, the stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.
Benton is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $1,000,000 bond.
The Gulfport Police Department is not releasing the name of the victim until his family has been notified by the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.
