UPDATE: Police release photos of car possibly involved in Gulfport hit & run of teen

A car possibly involved in Saturday’s hit and run may have been caught on surveillance after leaving the scene. Gulfport Police investigators released several stills from surveillance cameras. Most of the images are of a blue compact sedan. One image is of a possible suspect entering a business.

According to investigators, witnesses of the incident saw a blue sedan traveling eastbound in the left lane strike the victim and continue driving eastbound.

The teenage victim was listed in serious condition after being taken by helicopter to University of South Alabama Medical Center following a hit and run over the weekend.

Gulfport police were called to the accident scene around 9 p.m. Saturday, and found the teen pedestrian lying on the road in the 15000 block of Dedeaux Road.

She was first taken to a local hospital before being life-flighted.

Witnesses told officers the driver of a blue sedan traveling east on Dedeaux struck the victim in the left lane and kept driving eastbound.

According to WXXV-TV, family members identified the 13-year-old as Teshawna Taylor on social media. They added that Teshawna was transferred from South Alabama to a hospital in New Orleans, where she is in a medically induced coma.
