Police charge man with aggravated assault after Gulfport shooting

The Gulfport Police Department on Wednesday charged a man with a shooting last week.

Elvenis Davis Jr. was charged with one count of aggravated assault, police said in a news release.

The shooting occurred at 9:48 p.m. Friday at 3318 39th Ave. and left one victim with a gunshot wound. Police allege Davis is the man who discharged a firearm and fled.

The victim was later released from an area hospital.

Davis is in the Harrison County jail and being held on a $250,000 bond.
