Sheriff: FL protection order didn’t stop boyfriend from killing victim in Gulfport

A Florida man was arrested Friday and charged with the first-degree murder of his girlfriend at Village Place Apartments in Gulfport.

Andrew Moore Luckhurst, 44, of North County Road in Eustis, Florida, is charged with first degree murder, reports Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson.

He was the boyfriend of the victim, Becky Endres, 62. She had a protection order in Florida and recently moved to South Mississippi.

A man called 911 to report a medical emergency with CPR in progress. When deputies arrived at the apartment on Robinson Road, they found Luckhurst and Endres, who had bruising and fresh blood on her face and head and was dead.

Harrison County investigators determined the woman had blunt force trauma on her body and was strangled, the police report says.

Luckhurst was later arrested for first degree murder.

He was taken to the Harrison County jail. Justice Count Judge B. Ladner ordered him held without bond.
