Shooting in Gulfport leaves one in the hospital and another arrested

A man has been left in critical condition at Singing River Hospital after being shot Wednesday at a home in Gulfport, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Troy Peterson announced the arrest of 39-year-old Edna Charlene Rivers on one count of aggravated assault-domestic violence in connection to the shooting.

According to a press release, investigators learned that a domestic dispute occurred at the residence between the victim and Rivers that resulted in the victim being shot.

Rivers is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility in lieu of a $500,000 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
