Update: Additional person charged after motorcyclist killed in crash
A second suspect was charged in connection with a motorcycle crash that killed one in Gulfport on Sunday.
On Tuesday the Gulfport Police Department arrested Stanley Wayne Asher, 39, and charged him with accessory after the fact.
Dixie Tanner Sharp, 46, who was arrested on Monday, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and held at Harrison County Adult Detention Center on an $100,000 bond.
According to a press release from the Gulfport Police Department, officers responded to a call for an accident with injuries at the intersection of U.S. 90 and 20th Avenue in Gulfport at around 8 p.m on Sunday. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw an unoccupied white Lexis and debris from a motorcycle in the road.
According to police, witnesses saw Sharp and Asher walk away from the Lexis after getting into an accident with a motorcyclist.
Carlos Del La Cruz, the driver of the motorcycle, passed away from his injuries at the scene of the accident.
