Biloxi police on Thursday arrested a man wanted on a murder charge in North Carolina.

Lawrence Guittierez, wanted for the suspected murder of his wife, is being held in the county jail while he awaits extradition.

Biloxi police went to a fire station after receiving a tip about a suspicious vehicle there, police Capt. Milton Houseman said.

Guitterez was outside honking the horn of his car. When firefighters got outside, police said, he was passed out in his vehicle.

Police then arrived, ran his car tags and found a warrant was out for his arrest in North Carolina.

Guitterez was booked into custody without incident.
