Body found near Coast watershed identified as George County man missing for a week
The body found in a heavily wooded area south of Lucedale city limits has been identified as the remains of Larry James Spicer, 70.
Spicer’s remains were recovered on March 27 at about 12:30 p.m. near the Big Cedar Creek watershed.
The identification was announced Monday in a press release from the George County Sheriff’s Office.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation sent out a Silver Alert on Spicer last week, who was last seen on Monday, March 21, in the area Mill Street and Cowart Street.
In the press release the sheriff’s department thanked Jackson County K-9, George County Search and Rescue, Lucedale Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and private citizens for their efforts in the search for Spicer.
Spcier’s body was sent to the coroner’s office for an autopsy.
